Cooking has always been my passion. I collect recipes and have literally hundreds of recipes that have been passed down through our family.
Over the years though, I’ve had to reduce almost every one of my recipes as my family is not as large as it once was. Our children have grown up, married and have children of their own. There are still times though when we all get together and I have to double some of the recipes.
Most people usually don’t have problems reducing or doubling a simple measurement in a recipe. But……for those more difficult measurements I always have to call for assistance from my husband. After much figuring and being frustrated for having to delay the preparation of my cooking we eventually would come up with the correct measurements. There had to be a better way!
I even purchased a hand computer especially designed to answer those crazy fractional questions. Just learning how the computer worked was an adventure in itself. Entering all the required information on those “little” keys was a task in and by itself. I think we could answer our questions in about the same time if we had continued using our pen and paper method. There had to be a better way.
After trying a number of mathematical possibilities we finally came up with what we believe is that better way. Our Cutting Edge Slide.
